Para una polémica tendrías que presentar un punto de vista opuesto, lo que presentás es complementario.
Hay enormes flujos naturales de CO2 entre la atmósfera y la tierra y entre la atmósfera y los océanos. Pero, exceptuando catástrofes como super erupciones volcánicas o la caída de un gran meteorito, estos flujos se mantienen estables y a lo largo del año se equilibran.
Y a este equilibrio se agregan las «pequeñas» emisiones humanas, con la diferencia que estas solo suman y nunca restan.
Está clarísimo en el primer párrafo del artículo que mencionás:

O sea el CO2 que emitimos se acumula en la atmósfera, donde trae problemas, y se acumula en los océanos donde también trae problemas (acidificación).
